This Aquatic Post Rehabilitation Program is designed to provide high quality, current, research-based training and certification in aquatic post rehabilitation focusing on Aqua Arthritis and Joint Replacement. The CALA Healing Waters program teaches post rehabilitation techniques which effectively utilize the aquatic medium to restore and enhance functional ability. This is a comprehensive training program, based on experiential learning which involves putting theory into practice. Program participants will learn skills necessary to design and deliver an appropriate post-rehab, therapy-based program which incorporates a multidisciplinary approach. The fundamental paradigm of this program involves thoughtful integration of the mind, body and spirit - a holistic approach to client care.
Pre-Requisite: CALA Foundations of Vertical Water Training Course or Completion of a Letter of Acceptance to Bypass the VWT Course.
Topics Include: The healing power of movement in water, phases of rehabilitation, facility considerations, understanding the legal aspects of post rehabilitation, safety standards, class design, understanding specific medical and rehabilitative conditions.
Achieving Certification in the Healing Waters Specialty:
1. HW Open book theory exam: 50 questions. Open Book. 80% pass grade required.
2. HW Assignment: 30 minute mock class plan that an assessor grades and awards a pass/fail which then advances you to the final step…
3. HW Practical Assessment: submit a 30 minute video of a mock or real class. An assessor will watch your submission and upon a passing grade you are now a CALA Healing Waters Instructor!
