Certification Questions

  • Once we receive your order for the VWT Foundation Course, we will send you an email with all the information you need to begin the process of certifying with us.

After completion of your VWT, you can choose the GAF or Healing Waters course depending on your career interest in aquafit.

  • In some special circumstances individuals may be allowed to do the VWT and GAF concurrently.

For optimal learning we recommend completing the VWT before taking on the GAF or Healing Waters.

  • No, CALA does not allow members to share materials and access due to liability and copyright infringement.

  • The first time you certify with CALA you do not get CECs for foundation courses.

If you are taking a foundation course as a second credential, for example you are already GAF certified and you want to become Healing Waters certified, you will obtain 8 credits.

  • The practical assignment is the development of a class curriculum or plan. As a new instructor it is critical that you understand the components of a well designed class that incorporates a full body workout, great music, tempo changes, range of motion, transitions, verbal and visual cues and participant encouragement and engagement. Writing a plan before presenting your practical assessment is a great way to organize and develop your mock class.

The practical assessment is a 30 minute mock class done in-person or in a video format. Ideally you will have participants on video or in the class so we can see how they react to your movements and the presentation of your programme. This is where you can show us your creativity, spirit, and determination.

  • We want you to succeed in becoming an aquafit instructor but need to compensate our assessors for their time in marking/grading your assignments and assessments. Therefore if you fail, there is a $35 charge to re-write/re-submit your assignment or assessment.

You can redo as many times as necessary.

  • Please contact us to obtain a copy of your updated certificate as well as a record of your CECs. Most employers will require this for their insurers and internal records.
