Why should you choose to certify with CALA?
At the Canadian Aquafitness Leaders Alliance, we aim to help you turn your passion for aquafitness into a long-lasting professional journey. Your success is at the heart of what we do and our trainers and staff want to see you blossom on the pool deck. When you choose to be CALA certified you are choosing to align with the longest running aquafitness education body in Canada. At the heart of all of our courses is the ethos that the integration of mind, body and spirit is at the core of providing an outstanding class and being an outstanding instructor.
What’s the process?
You will begin your Aquafitness Instructor career by taking our VWT (Vertical Water Training) certification. This will give you anatomical knowledge and the necessary confidence to teach to people in water. After achieving your VWT certification, you can become fully qualified in two streams: rehabilitation and/or group fitness. Our rehabilitation stream is called Healing Waters and from here you can work with individuals in smaller more hands-on settings. Our group fitness stream is called GAF (Group Aqua Fitness) and from here you can lead large cardio and strength training classes in deep and shallow water. More detailed information about our certification pathway is available here.
