DESCRIPTION:
(4 Hours: 2 hrs Theory + 2 hrs Pool Practicum)
This four-hour interactive workshop blends theory and hands-on pool application to strengthen instructor skills to design engaging aqua fitness choreography for both shallow and deep-water environments. Participants will collaborate to create purposeful movement patterns, practice seamless transitions, and explore how music can support timing, cueing, and class flow. Through group-based planning, peer feedback, and in-water practice, instructors will develop adaptable choreography strategies that enhance participant engagement, safety, and overall class quality.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Design creative and adaptable choreography for both shallow and deep-water aqua fitness classes that supports participant safety, engagement, and varying ability levels.
Apply effective transitions and class flow strategies to create cohesive class blocks and smooth movement progressions between exercises and formats.
Use music intentionally as a teaching tool to improve timing, cueing, and participant motivation, and utilize music as an instructional support rather than background sound.
